It was normal for it to rain, but in October — who could forget the rains of October? That which villagers called ‘the rains of October’ was the accumulation of the serenity of such a life.

What probably happened is that quotation websites circulated a free or incorrect translation of an excerpt from his poetic prose about memory and seasons in Angola, where rain and October appear symbolically.
