Mia Kirshner

Mia Kirshner:

(Toronto, 25 January 1975) is a Canadian actress. She has played one of the regular characters in the television series The L Word since 2004.

Kirshner is a daughter of Jewish parents. Her father is a journalist with Canadian Jewish News. He met Kirshner’s mother, a Bulgarian-Jewish refugee, in Israel.

Kirshner studied Russian literature and film studies at McGill University in Montreal. She got her first film role in 1993. In Love and Human Remains, she played the role of Benita, for which she was nominated for the Genie for ‘best female supporting actor’. She also starred in the film Not Another Teen Movie (2001) as Catherine Wyler.
