American musician and music producer.
In his early days, he sometimes played in the background. His best-known work is his collaboration with David Bowie, with whom he worked from 1969 until Bowie’s death in 2016. He also produced Moody Blues, T. Rex, Mary Hopkin, Thin Lizzy, Ralph McTell, Sparks, Hugh Cornwell, Gentle Giant, Boomtown Rats, Hazel O’Connor, Zaine Griff, Adam Ant, The Stranglers, Richard Barone, Manic Street Preachers, Kristeen Young and Morrissey.
