April prepares her green traffic light and the world thinks, “Go!”

Photo: Dimitar Yanchev. Meaning 🧐 : This charming phrase is a metaphor for spring and the change this season brings: 🟢 The Green Traffic Light: The arrival of spring (April) is compared to a traffic light turning green. After the dark, cold winter, during which nature ‘stands still’, green is the color of new life, bloom, and growth. “Go!”: The world responds to this ‘green light’ with energy, enthusiasm, and action. People go outside, flowers begin to bloom, animals become active, and there is a general sense of new beginnings and progress. In essence, it means: ‘April brings spring and signals the world to start a new period of life and activity.’ Author: Christopher Morley (1890–1957) was a well-known American journalist, essayist, novelist, and poet. He was famous for his witty and insightful writing style. Origin: The phrase likely comes from one of his many essays or columns. Although the exact text is often quoted slightly differently in English, the essence and the attribution to Morley are generally accepted. 📚 🟢🏃‍♂️💨 |😊

That’s why I call this place the Haunted Bookshop. Haunted by the ghosts of the books I haven’t read. Poor uneasy spirits, they walk and walk around me. There’s only one way to lay the ghost of a book, and that is to read it.
