Hayao Miyazaki

Hayao Miyazaki:

(Miyazaki Hayao; Tokyo, 5 January 1941).
Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter, animator, author and mangaka. His breakthrough in the West came mainly from the great success of Spirited Away, an animated film that was awarded ‘Best Animated Feature’ at the 75th Oscar ceremony in 2003.
In Japan, the film was so well attended that it displaced the film Titanic from first place.

Miyazaki’s films are characterised by the music of Joe Hisaishi, with whom he has a very good relationship and and with whom he has worked since his first film.
