Florence Bone:
Born in 1875, in Liverpool.
She was the eldest daughter of the Rev. Henry Bone, a Methodist minister, and was educated at a Moravian school. She lived for many years in Ripon, and – in addition to her three girls’ school stories – produced many works of historical and romantic fiction set in Yorkshire. She died in 1971.
