Dorothy Gladys (Dodie) Smith:

(Whitefield (Greater Manchester), May 3, 1896 – Uttlesford, November 24, 1990).
English novelist and playwright.
Her best-known works include I Capture the Castle, but especially 101 Dalmatians, which became a children’s book classic and has been adapted into films several times.
