Jan Ligthart:
(Amsterdam, 11 January 1859 – Laag-Soeren, 16 February 1916). Dutch teacher and educational innovator. He became known as headmaster of a primary school in The Hague’s Schilderswijk district and as a writer of articles and books.
Education is a matter of love, patience and wisdom. And the latter two grow where the former reigns.
