Markus Zusak:
(Sydney, 23 June 1975) is an Australian writer. He is the son of an Austrian father and a German mother. He is the youngest of four children.
Four of Zusak’s books have been published in Dutch: De underdog, De vechter, De boekendief and De boodschapper. De boekendief (the English original was published in 2005) has now been published in more than 30 countries and filmed in 2013 with the original title The Book Thief.
Zusak lives in Sydney, is married and has a daughter.
Like most misery, it started with apparent happiness.
