Dzhengis Khan:
Born as Temüji.
(1162 – Yinchuan, 18 August 1227).
Mongolian ruler (kan, chan or khan) and conqueror.
Dzhengis Khan united the Mongol tribes and founded the largest continuous empire in world history in terms of area. It stretched from China to the Danube River. During the campaigns under his rule, massive massacres of the population of conquered cities took place, especially in Central Asia.
Dzhengis Khan’s name is also written as Genghis Khan.
Literally, his name means “Great Leader”.
