The Talmud:
(Hebrew: תלמוד, ‘teachings’).
After the Tenach (in Christianity, the Old Testament), the most important book within Judaism.
It contains the commentaries of important rabbis and other scholars on the Tenach, often in the form of discussions between supporters and opponents of a particular point of view.
Through this initially oral tradition of interpretation and explanation of the Law and prophets from the time of Moses, a very extensive compilation of possible explanations, law precepts, anecdotes, legends and myths has thus been gathered.
