Ram Dass

Baba Ram Dass:

Born as Richard Alpert.

(Boston, 6 April 1931 – Maui, 22 December 2019).

Spiritual teacher who wrote the 1971 bestseller Remember Be Here Now (Ned. transl.: From Here, From Now). He became known for his personal and professional collaboration with Timothy Leary at Harvard University in the early 1960s. He was also known for his travels to India and his relationship with Hindu guru Neem Karoli Baba.

As you quiet your mind, you begin to see the nature of your own resistance more clearly, struggles, inner dialogues, the way in which you procrastinate and develop passive resistance against life. As you cultivate the witness, things change. You don’t have to change them. Things just change.

Suffering is part of our training program for becoming wise. When you know how to listen everybody is the guru. The world is won by those who let it go. Don´t think about the future. Just be here now. Just relax and trust the process.
