Honoré de Balzac:
Born Honoré Balzac (Tours, 20 May 1799 – Paris, 18 August 1850).
French novelist, playwright and theorist, widely regarded as one of the most important writers of the nineteenth century. Balzac is considered one of the founding fathers of realism in literature and, as a result, had a huge influence on the literature written after him.
His best-known work is La Comédie humaine, a series of novels written with the intention of presenting a complete picture of French society after the fall of Napoleon. To this end, Balzac wrote around a hundred novels that showed the social conditions of the different classes. Some novels have become classics in French literature, such as Eugénie Grandet and Le Père Goriot. As a result, Balzac is considered one of the great novelists of French and even world literature.
