Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger:
(Vienna, 12 August 1887 – there, 4 January 1961).
Austrian physicist who became famous for his contributions to quantum mechanics, in particular the Schrödinger equation for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1933.
Schrödinger is also known for ‘Schrödinger’s cat’, a 1935 thought experiment concerning the concept of superposition in quantum mechanics.
