Carlos Castaneda

Carlos Castaneda:

(Cajamarca, 25 December 1925 – Los Angeles, 27 April 1998).
American writer and anthropologist of Peruvian descent who wrote a number of books about his relationship with and apprenticeship with an Indian magician called Don Juan Matus.
The books contained many supernatural phenomena and magic but also detailed explanations of this Don Juan’s philosophy. They attracted strong attention and gained a certain cult status. Later, however, doubts arose, including whether Don Juan really existed.
