If one finger brings oil it soils the others.

Photo: dm.blogspot.  Meaning: The saying “If one finger brings oil, it stains the other” is a powerful metaphor often used to express the following ideas: Sharing responsibility: When one person or group takes on a task or causes a problem, this often affects others around them. Contamination/Spread: Negative influences, problems, or even gossip can easily spread from one person or situation to another. If one part of a whole becomes “stained,” it can affect the rest. Shared consequences: Actions by one individual rarely have consequences only for that individual; they often have a ripple effect on the community or the people around them. Collective accountability: In some contexts, it can point to the idea that we, as a community, share a certain degree of responsibility for each other’s well-being and behavior. It often emphasizes the interconnectedness of people and the impact of individual actions on the collective. Origin and Author:  This saying is attributed to Chinua Achebe, the famous Nigerian writer. It is a traditional Igbo saying that Achebe used and popularized in his novels, particularly in “Things Fall Apart.” In “Things Fall Apart,” the saying is used to illustrate Igbo culture and their worldview, in which the community plays a central role and the actions of individuals are inextricably linked to the fate of the group. It emphasizes the collective nature of Igbo society. It is an authentic Igbo saying that Chinua Achebe incorporated into his masterpieces, making it known worldwide.🌍📚
