Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein:

(Ulm, Switzerland, 14 March 1879 – Princeton (New Jersey), USA, 18 April 1955).
German-Swiss-American theoretical physicist of Jewish descent. He is widely regarded as one of the most important physicists in history, alongside Isaac Newton and James Clerk Maxwell. He himself always referred to Newton as a much more important physicist than himself because, unlike Einstein, Newton made great experimental discoveries besides theoretical ones. In everyday life, Einstein’s name has become synonymous with great intelligence.

The idea that this universe in all its million-fold order and precision is the result of blind chance, is as credible as the idea that if a print shop blew up all the type would fall down again in the finished and faultless form of the dictionary.

If my theory of relativity is proven successful, Germany will claim me as a German and France will declare me a citizen of the world. Should my theory prove untrue, France will say that I am a German, and Germany will declare that I am a Jew.

Strange is our situation here on Earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to divine a purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: that man is here for the sake of other men – above all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness depends.
