It was a bright spring morning, full of promise. Most travelers are familiar with this kind of weather, when the wind blows westward and warm but the ground still chills the soles of your feet, when the tree buds have begun to unfurl and scent the air with secret springtime madness and they know those days are made for leaving.

Meaning 📖: Spring feeling: The quote captures the unique feeling of a fresh spring morning, full of hope and new possibilities. Longing for adventure: The combination of warm wind and cold ground, together with the scents of budding nature, creates a sense of restlessness and the urge to travel. Time to go: It suggests that certain days, characterized by this specific weather, are destined to depart and explore new horizons. 🗺️ Origin and Author: The quote was indeed written by Alix E. Harrow, from her book “The Ten Thousand Doors of January” (translated into Dutch as “De tienduizend deuren van January”). It is one of the many beautiful passages in that book that describe the magic of stories and the urge to travel.
