In January, it’s so nice while slipping on the sliding ice to sip hot chicken soup with rice. Sipping once. Sipping twice.

Meaning: Seasonal joy: The saying describes the simple pleasures that winter brings, such as skating on slippery ice and enjoying warming meals. Sensory experiences: It emphasises the sensory experiences of tasting and the sound of slurping, which evokes a feeling of cosiness and comfort. Simple pleasures: The idea that small, everyday activities such as ice skating and hot soup can bring joy. Origin: Winter traditions: The image of ice skating and eating warm soup is typical of winter traditions in many cultures. Literature and poetry: Such descriptions are common in poetry and literature that capture the beauty of winter and its associated experiences. Possible Author: Maurice Sendak: It is possible that the saying is attributed to Maurice Sendak, especially given his familiarity with children’s literature and his ability to capture the sensory experiences of children in his work. Best-known work: Sendak is best known for the book ‘Where the Wild Things Are”, but his oeuvre contains many elements that explore children’s experiences and imaginations. Conclusion: Verification: However, there is no direct confirmation that this specific saying is actually by Maurice Sendak. It would be helpful to look at the context in which the saying was found to confirm this attribution. 📚✨
