Gloria Marie Steinem:

Feminist, journalist and activist from the United States, active since the 1950s. She was a columnist for New York magazine and founder of Ms. In 1969, she published the article ‘After Black Power, Women’s Liberation’, which made her a feminist leader in the United States. In 2005, Steinem, Jane Fonda and Robin Morgan were the founders of the Women’s Media Center, an organisation that aims to give women visibility and power in the media. Steinem currently tours as an organiser and speaker and is a media spokesperson on issues of equality. She is also working on a book about her work as a feminist organiser. Its title will be Road to the Heart: America As if Everyone Mattered.
