José Ortega y Gasset:
(Madrid, 9 May 1883 – there, 18 October 1955).
Influential Spanish philosopher, who achieved international fame with his book ‘La rebelión de las masas’ (The Revolt of the Hordes). He is associated with the Generation of ‘98 and made a mark on his country’s thinking and eventful politics in the first half of the 20th century.
The Ortega hypothesis is derived from his book ‘La rebelión de las masas’, although Ortega himself probably did not agree with it.
Life is like waking up on a stage while the play has already begun.
