Charles den Tex:

(Box Hill, Australia, 21 April 1952).
Dutch writer.
Den Tex returned to the Netherlands with his parents at the age of five. He studied photography and film in London, worked in Paris and settled in the Netherlands in 1979 as an advertising copywriter and later a communications and management consultant.

He wrote thirteen thrillers, six of which were nominated for the Gouden Strop. He won the award in 2002 with Schijn van kans, in 2006 with De macht van meneer Miller and in 2008 with Cel. He has developed a subgenre of his own, the corporate thriller close in time. His books have been compared in the press to those of John Grisham, Michael Crichton and Michael Ridpath. His book The Power of Mr Miller was adapted into the four-part television series Bellicher; the Power of Mr Miller for VPRO in 2010. Later, his book Cell was also adapted into a television series Bellicher; Cell. With The Friend, he won the Crimezone Thriller Award 2012. In 2013, Charles den Tex was nominated by the Literary Fund for the Ripper Award, the first European thriller prize. also in 2013, the first Golden Bat for his entire thriller oeuvre was awarded to him.
From 1999 to 2004, Den Tex was president of the Genootschap van Nederlandstalige Misdaadauteurs, founded in 1986.
In 2021, he turned up in local politics, chairing the Wind Turbine Free party in the Bronckhorst municipality.
