Roger Louis Schutz-Marsauche:
(Provence, Switzerland 12 May 1915 – Taizé 16 August 2005). Better known as frère Roger (Brother Roger),
was a theologian, resistance hero and the founder and first superior of the Taizé Community, an ecumenical monastic community that in 2005 had about 100 brothers and attracted around 200,000, mostly young people as visitors every year.
