I prefer winter and fall when you feel the bone structure of the landscape — the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn’t show.

Photo: Susanne Stöckli.  Meaning: Natural Beauty: The quote reflects Wyeth’s attention to the subtle beauty of the seasons, especially winter and autumn. Emotional Depth: The feelings of loneliness and ‘dead feeling’ can be seen in the emotional impact of his paintings, which often depict a quiet contemplation of the human experience. Conclusion: Andrew Wyeth, as the author of the quote, emphasises the connection between his artistic vision and the feelings expressed in the text, with a strong emphasis on the beauty and melancholy of the seasons.
