(Paris, 1 July 1804 – Château Nohant, 8 June 1876).
By her marriage also Baroness Dudevant, was a French writer and feminist avant la lettre. Her works included novels, novellas, fairy tales, plays, an autobiography, literary reviews and political texts. She also played a political role by participating sideways in the provisional government of 1848.
