Jane Austen

Jane Austen:

(Steventon, 16 December 1775 – Winchester, 18 July 1817). Prominent English novelist whose work is now part of the Western literary canon. The form and dramatic content of her fiction are a stark contrast to the reclusive life she led in reality.

Her realism, biting social commentary and her use of free indirect speech, a hitherto little-used figure of style, helped her become one of the most widely read and best-loved writers in English literature.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
