Jorge Francisco Isidoro Luis Borges Acevedo:
(Buenos Aires, 24 August 1899 – Geneva, 14 June 1986).
Argentine poet, essayist and short-story writer. He is counted among the most important writers of the 20th century. Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa called him ‘the greatest Spanish-language writer since Cervantes’. His work was a decisive influence on the rise of Latin American literature in the second half of the 20th century.
