Cornelis (Kees) Boeke:
(Alkmaar, 25 September 1884 – Amsterdam, 3 July 1966).
Dutch pedagogue with his own vision of education. In 1926, together with Beatrice Cadbury, he founded his own school, the Werkplaats Kindergemeenschap (WP) in Bilthoven. In it, he developed his own vision of education, which included the joint participation of pupils and teachers in the overall events of the school.
Education and democracy are brother and sister, because freedom is a possibility that must be learned in living together with others.
