Howard Zinn:
(Brooklyn, 24 August 1922 – Santa Monica, 27 January 2010) Influential American historian of left-wing persuasion.
Zinn was a professor at Boston University. He received several awards for his work. His best-known book is A people’s history of the United States, in which he looks at the birth of the United States through the eyes of Indians, black slaves, women and workers. The book is used as a textbook in some US high schools, despite repeated attempts by Republican politicians to ban it from education.
Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people can transform the world.
Historically, the most terrible things – war, genocide, and slavery – have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience.
