Anne Frank

Annelies Marie (Anne) Frank:

(Frankfurt am Main, 12 June 1929 – Bergen-Belsen, February 1945).
A German and later stateless Jewish girl who became world-famous for her diary written during World War II, while in hiding in the secret annex on Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. She supposedly died of stain typhus in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in February 1945. However, her official date of death was set by the Dutch authorities as 31 March 1945. Her diary was published posthumously and is one of the most widely read books in the world. Through her diary, Anne Frank has become an international symbol of the Holocaust, the murder of six million Jews during World War II. Anne Frank is included in the Canon of the Netherlands as one of the 50 themes of Dutch history.

The sun is shining, the sky is deep blue, there’s a magnificent breeze and I’m longing — really longing — for everything: conversation, freedom, friends, being alone.

I want to write, but more than that, I want to bring out all kinds of things that lie buried deep in my heart.
