Gerrit Jan Komrij:
(Winterswijk, 30 March 1944 – Amsterdam, 5 July 2012).
Dutch poet and connoisseur of Dutch poetry, writer, serialist translator, critic, polemicist and playwright. In 1993, he was awarded the P.C. Hooft Prize for his contemplative prose. He was the Poet Laureate of the Netherlands from 2000 to 2004. Komrij was known for his virtuoso and colourful use of language and was a feared polemicist.
